Series: Yu Yu Hakusho Character: Kurama (Shinsui arc) Made by: Lisa First worn: Wai-con 2007 Prizes: Wai-con 2007: Best group, Day 1 Events attended: Wai-con 2007 Status: Complete Easiest Aspect: The shoes; they're ordinary kung-fu shoes. Hardest Aspect: The wig and the whip. The wig, because of all the unusually angled spikes, and the whip because it took me a long time to find a way of making it look convincing enough. Contruction Notes: This was a fairly simple costume to make, so I focussed on making it as accurate as I could. I chose the green costume as I preferred it to the yellow gi or his school uniform, which is a little too pink for my sanity. I made all the patterns for it myself. The whip was made of rope, with wire threaded through it for strength. I then wrapped the whole thing in black duct tape and attached thorns also made and stuck on with duct tape. Lastly, I covered the whole thing with pale green masking tape.
